Immediately after the treatment the color of permanent makeup is very bright. Skin begins to heal itself immediately by producing lymph and pushing some of the pigment out. A few days after the procedure the top layer of the skin peels and permanent makeup becomes significantly lighter. Immediately after the peeling stage, the color may be very sheer. This is a “ghost stage”, and the color will saturate in the weeks that follow. Final color is observed 4-5 weeks after the session. At that time, we meet for a touch up session.
I guide you through this process and provide written aftercare instructions post each session.
LipsIn most cases lips exhibit some degree of swelling, and slight redness may be present around the contour for up to 24 hours after the procedure. The initial healing takes 3-5 days
EyebrowsThere is no swelling or redness on eyebrows (rare exceptions for extremely sensitive skin). Eyebrows may appear slightly wider and the color is usually warmer than healed results. The initial healing takes 5-10 days
Lash LineThere is rarely any swelling or redness on eyelids immediately after the procedure. However, you may notice slight swelling the next morning. I will provide tips for preventing or resolving it quickly. You may not notice the peeling on lash line, but it occurs within the first 14 days after the procedure.
